ABOUT US

Keyhaven, the most westerly harbour in the Solent, is the home of West Solent Boat Builders Ltd., a family run boatyard that has been catering for the needs of local yachtsmen and fishermen for over 40 years.

 

In addition to our local clientele, we actively welcome visiting yachtsmen and make every effort to satisfy the requirements of our many visitors. This is a versatile and friendly yard, capable of dealing with almost any problem that boat owners may experience.

 

In our early years we specialised in the building and fitting out of commercial fishing vessels and yachts up to 40’ LOA, as well as providing the usual range of repair and lay-up facilities to local yachtsmen.

With the decline of the fishing industry, we began to focus solely on supporting owners of sailing yachts and power craft with a comprehensive range of engine, boat and yard services.

In 2016, West Solent Boat Builders was taken over by Richard Attwell and his father Ken,

restoring the business to family ownership.

Since this time major investment has been made in the yard to upgrade the facilities and the chandlery has been expanded and restocked with all your boating essentials.

The addition of a coffee machine and New Forest Ice Cream

has also been made and already proving very popular.

With these improved facilities and through our expert engineering staff, we look forward to supporting Keyhaven river users and harbour visitors for many years to come.
