Built as a robust and comfortable weekend cruising yacht, easy to handle for one or two people, capable of taking some rough weather and with a comfortable 2 berth interior.

Regularly maintained by her previous owner and only used lightly around the west solent, she appears to be a solid and well cared for small cruising boat.

Construction

Clinker planked in Larch, bronze screw fastened to widely spaced sawn oak frames. Grown oak floors across the centreline with no external ballast keel.

Internal lead trimming ballast.

Galvanised steel centreplate raised and lowered on a rope tackle.

Sheathed marine plywood deck on larch deck beams.

Varnished larch coachroof coamings and a sheathed plywood coachroof deck.

The coachroof spans the full beam of the boat giving a lot of volume internally.

Large sliding companion hatch and varnished skylight.

Large open and deep cockpit is sheltered and safe.

Tiller steering on a transom hung rudder.

Rig

Masthead gunter sloop rig on a deck stepped varnished wooden mast in a tabernacle with varnished slab reefing boom and varnished bowsprit.

Stainless steel standing rigging to external bronze chain plates on the coachroof coamings.

Machinery

Yanmar 2GM20 18hp diesel. Starts and pumps water well.

Single lever controls to a centreline fixed 3 blade bronze propeller, 5 knots cruising speed, 6 knots max.

43 litre plastic fuel tank in starboard cockpit locker.

2 x 12 volt batteries with engine alternator charging and a 240v charger. Installed shore power system.

1 manual and 1 electric bilge pump.

Accommodation

The emphasis of this boat is for sociable day sailing so she has large open cockpit to accommodate a large crew. The interior is comfortable and cosy with ample sitting headroom and the usual amenities for weekend cruising. Very wide sliding entrance hatch over the engine into the main cabin. Galley area to starboard with a portable single burner gas stove, storage for crockery and a work top. To port is a small chart desk with storage beneath. A full length settee berth either side with the centreplate box in the middle. Because the coachroof is full width there is ample sitting headroom without banging ones head on the carlins.

A Pansy solid fuel cabin heater is mounted at the forward end.

A Portapotti toilet is set to port at the forward end and a curtain provides some privacy.

The forward area is a large storage space with the anchor locker and space for sails, fenders etc.
