2012 Stroma Yole 21ft Traditional Scottish Wooden Sailing Vessel
Traditional, heavy-displacement fishing sailboat built in Scotland by Stromar (Yule design).
A proven, seaworthy little vessel with an excellent pedigree.

• Condition: The boat spent several years stored in a barn and has been well loved with on going maintenance.
This type of boat is still used commercially in the north of Scotland, a testament to her strength and sea-keeping ability. She is a very capable sea boat, ideal for fishing, coastal cruising, or traditional sailing enthusiasts.
The original builder, Peter Mandleson, is still contactable and extremely helpful. His workshop is in Glasgow, and he is happy to talk through the boat’s build and history.
The design has an impressive track record: a sister ship famously sailed from Scotland to halfway across the Pacific via Panama in 1976 by 21-year-old Nigel Granger and his girlfriend. Nigel later wrote a book about the voyage, The Voyage of the Arega, which is well worth reading.

She is currently stored afloat on her mooring at Keyhaven SO41 and we will need to arrange viewings around tide times and weather conditions.
